The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are looking for a Broadcast and Communications intern to assist primarily with gamenight broadcast, media, and communications efforts for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Theideal candidate brings a positive, team-oriented personality with a passion for sports mediaand broadcasting, and a desire to help showcase the Phantoms as the epicenter for funand entertainment in the Lehigh Valley.REPORTS TO: Communications Department, Bob Rotruck and Connor LawrenceDURATION: Full Season (October - April)KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Must be available to work nights and weekends, to assist with Phantoms home game press row and as needed for other Phantoms-related events Support the communications, creative, and marketing departments with daily and weekly tasks, including media prep and coordinationAssists PR and Media Coordinator with game night dutiesCollaborate with other departments to enhance the "FANDOM" associated with the Phantoms Hockey Team and assist in reaching revenue goalsCompile and distribute game night media materials to press row including, but not limited to: stat packets, game notes, and lineup sheetsOrganize and maintain the upkeep of press row on game nightsAbility to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environmentPossibility to learn and observe live sports broadcasting if intern is interestedJOB REQUIREMENTS:Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed (Hours are flexible and canvary from one week to the next depending on intern's schedule as well as the team'shome-game schedule)Must be local to the area with reliable transportationMaintain professionalism at all timesStrong writing abilitiesStrong organizational, written, and verbal communication skillsExhibit creative approaches generating awareness and promotionStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced environmentAbility to prioritize a wide variety of tasksAbility to interact with a variety of different departments and senior management teamEnergetic, Inspirational PersonalityA collaborative Team PlayerOther duties as assigned PREFERRED SKILLS:Sports and entertainment experience is preferred Broadcast/Communications experience is a plusExperience in sports writing and journalism or interested in learningKnowledge of and appreciation of professional hockey, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and the American Hockey LeaguePLEASE INCLUDE:Link to an example of your sports writingLink to an example of your broadcast abilities and play-by-play (if interested)The Lehigh Valley Phantoms are looking for a Broadcast and Communications intern to assist primarily with gamenight broadcast, media, and communications efforts for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
