This role oversees audits, budgeting, financial reporting, and accounting operations while partnering across the organization to improve processes, implement financial systems, and support sound financial decision-making. Employees are expected to follow all Cincinnati Reds policies and procedures, serve as positive role models, and manage their workload effectively. This includes demonstrating flexibility, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and meeting departmental productivity standards. This is not a remote position.​Minimum Requirements:Education | Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldExperience | 7+ years of progressive accounting experience3-5+ years of management and supervisory experienceExperience leading annual audits and maintaining internal controlsExperience managing budgeting and forecasting processesExperience overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and general accounting functions, including month-end and year-end close processSkills | Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles Strong audit, internal controls, and compliance experienceDemonstrated project management skills and experience implementing process improvementsExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work flexible hours as needed to meet business demands, including overtime during month-end, quarter-end, year-end, audit activities, and other critical deadlines Preferred Qualifications:Education | CPA designation and/or a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience | Experience in professional sports, entertainment, hospitality, or similar industriesExperience with financial system upgrades and automation projectsExperience managing nonprofit financial reporting and budgetingSkills | NetSuite experience strongly preferredExperience with Concur expense management system Experience with Adaptive PlanningKnowledge of AI tools and technologies that enhance accounting efficiencies and reporting processesStrong process improvement and change management capabilitiesPrimary Job Duties & Responsibilities:Duty | % of TimeSupervises Accounting staff, oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, cash management, reconciliations, and month-end close activities | 30%Manage all aspects of the annual external audit, including audit preparation, coordination, schedules, documentation, and resolution of audit requests | 10%Partner with Ticketing department to ensure accurate accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and implementation of ticket-related deals, promotions, and revenue programs | 15%Assist with Budgeting, forecasting, cash flow analysis, and various financial reporting requirements | 10%Oversee accounting and financial reporting for two nonprofit entities, including monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and annual review processes | 10%Manage and enhance financial systems and automation initiatives, including AP automation, Concur administration, and future accounting system upgrades and | 15%Develop, maintain, and monitor internal controls, accounting policies, and process improvements to ensure compliance and operational efficiency | 5%Other duties as assigned | 5% Reporting Structure:This role reports directly to the VP of Finance/Controller Development Path & Next Role & Requirements:Next Role: Assistant Controller / Director of AccountingDevelopment Requirements:Demonstrated leadership of accounting operations and personnelSuccessful management of complex audits and internal control environmentsProven success leading financial system implementations and automation initiativesAdvanced expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reportingDevelopment of strategic planning, business partnership, and organizational leadership skillsPhysical Requirements:Occasionally required to sitUse hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hearLight lifting/carrying to assist with event preparationMay be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the timeNoise level in the work environment is usually moderateEqual Opportunity Statement: The Cincinnati Reds are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
