Join us!Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide leadership and oversight of all arena building systems, including HVAC, BAS, electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systemsServe as the technical lead for central plant operations, including chillers, cooling towers, air handling units, pumps, and controlsOversee operation and optimization of the Building Automation System (BAS) and facility monitoring systemsLead troubleshooting and resolution of complex mechanical and infrastructure issuesDevelop and manage preventative maintenance programs to ensure system reliability and performanceEnsure facility readiness for all events, including University Basketball games, concerts, and special eventsMaintain proper environmental conditions across all arena spaces, including suites, concourses, and team areasLead initiatives to improve system performance, energy efficiency, and operational reliabilityPartner on long-term infrastructure planning, capital projects, and lifecycle management of major systemsLead and manage facilities engineering staff, including technicians, and operatorsEstablish safety committee and monthly meetings to review incidents and document per Legends SOP’s.Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and external engineering partners and coordination with the University Facilities Department on all building repairs and budget allocationEnsure compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and building codesSupport emergency response planning and lead infrastructure-related incident responseMonitor departmental budgets, maintenance costs, and operational efficienciesQualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with energy and enthusiasm. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field, or equivalent experience10–15 years of experience in facilities, engineering, or building operationsExperience in large-scale commercial or complex venues such as arenas, stadiums, airports, hospitals, or entertainment facilities preferredStrong technical expertise in HVAC systems, central plant operations, and Building Automation Systems (BAS)Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and fire/life safety systemsExperience with preventative maintenance programs, CMMS platforms, and vendor managementProven leadership experience managing technical teamsExperience managing budgets, contracts, and capital projectsStrong problem-solving and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and organizational skillsBilingual in English and Spanish preferredCOMPENSATIONCompetitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan.WORKING CONDITIONSLocation: On Site or Remote WATSCO CENTER, MIAMI, FLPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
