Summary: Execute the delivery of a comprehensive and systematic analysis process to support the first team through video and data analysis. Collaborate as part of a multi-disciplinary analysis department to perform critical performance analysis services, covering all aspects of opponent, training & post-match analysis. Aligning all work with San Diego FC’s style of play, this role directly supports the coaching staff with technical and tactical insights.Key Responsibilities:Reporting to SDFC’s Head of Football Development, the Video Analyst’s primary duties and responsibilities will be:Lead in the provision of video analysis across the first team, covering all aspects of opponent, training, live & post-match analysisPerform comprehensive analysis on upcoming opponents, highlighting strengths, weaknesses and overall strategies to produce a master databaseDeliver opponent game plan presentations to coaches and players in a team meeting settingBe responsible for individual analysis within a designated unit groupWhere appropriate, provide live training analysis, with live coding and feedback for coaches and playersAttend all first team fixtures, managing workflows to integrate data and video feeds to provide coaches with immediate tactical feedbackCompose post-match analysis to highlight key insights for coaches and playersSupport in the maintenance of a tactical best practice library from first team matchesCollaborate with the multi-disciplinary analysis team to produce streamlined, consistent workflowsCollaborate closely with coaches to deliver information togetherDatabase and organize all video materials for accessibility purposesAbility to work under pressure with strict deadlinesAdhere to any other requests that meet the needs of the organizationQualifications & ExperienceCandidates can meet the qualifications for this role with a combination of education, experience and skills. Postgraduate degree in a field related to Performance Analysis Minimum of 3 years of related experience within analysis (or similar role) working with coaches and performance staff Professional experience within multi-disciplinary teams in elite sport Proven track record of establishing and delivering a robust performance analysis system around video and data Excellent knowledge of current and emerging tactical developments Exceptional time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks based on impact to organization Expert knowledge on analysis tools, specifically Hudl Sportscode, Studio, Catapult MatchTracker, Wyscout, other video telestration tools High level of soccer knowledge and experience, specifically within MLS, USSF, CONCACAF and FIFAPassport and ability to travel domestically and abroadPreferred ExperienceCoaching and/or playing experience preferredPractical experience with data visualization tools a plusStrong verbal, written, in-person and presentation communication skillsProcess driven with careful attention to detailExcellent organizational, data collection, planning and leadership skillsBilingual (English/Spanish) or multi-lingual fluencyWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.Summary: Execute the delivery of a comprehensive and systematic analysis process to support the first team through video and data analysis.
