Reports to: Team PresidentLocation: Hybrid, Orange CountyFLSA Status: ExemptType: Full-TimeEstimated Start Date: Tuesday October 6, 2026Position SummaryOrange County Baseball Club and Innovation Baseball Partners are seeking a dynamic Director of Marketing to lead the developing and launching of a baseball team in the Orange County, CA market. The Director of Marketing is responsible for being the bridge between the team and fans, ownership of the relationships with relevant local stakeholders, the building of community momentum and excitement, and supporting the launching of the team’s IP.This role collaborates closely with the Director of Operations and the Director of Partnerships at the club-level to bring the team to life, and with the CMO of IBP and IBP Central Services to develop our integrated story within the overall portfolio. This role will additionally be supported by a team that will help craft and execute the Asian-inspired themes of the role in parallel to its local community and media relations.This is a senior leadership position requiring strategic vision, hands-on execution, cross-department collaboration, and a deep understanding of the Southern California consumer market. Key ResponsibilitiesExecutive LeadershipDrive the development of a marketing team and processes for OC Baseball Club, including the:Management of performance KPIs and conversion reporting protocols.Monitoring progress against goals and adjust strategies as neededPresenting updates to executive leadership and ownershipRecruiting and training marketing staff members, including but not limited to the Community Manager, Marketing interns, and the Street TeamDocument best practices for marketing and brand development, and participate in marketing development at the IBP-levelCollaborate with internal teams on partnerships, operations, ticketing, and merchandising to align the team’s strategy and operations to a positive fan experienceCollaborate with IBP Executive team and Marketing leadership 2. Community Partnerships and EngagementBe the conduit to the greater community byLeading the strategy around community outreach in and out of the seasonEngaging with local businesses for themed nights, ticketing support, and in-stadium experienceBuilding a promotional calendar for themed nights, events, giveaways, and merchandiseDesigning initiatives and completing outreach to schools, nonprofits, civic organizations, and community leaders that strengthen the brand narrativeRepresenting the team at community functions to ensure a visible and positive presenceManaging in-kind donations, team appearances, and mascot/community ambassador schedulesDeveloping annual community impact reports and storytelling assets3. Brand Awareness and Fan AcquisitionLead organic social media strategy, content creation, and engagement across platforms (e.g., Instagram, X/Twitter, Facebook, TikTok)Collaborate with IBP Central Services on a paid digital content calendar, in coordination with game schedule, promotions, and campaignsTrack and analyze digital metrics and fan engagement to inform strategy and drive growthDrive ticketing in partnership with the Business Operations and ensure alignment with the promotional calendar and partnership campaignsPartner with PR Agency to secure media coverage and create coverage reports 4. Creative ServicesOversee creative production (graphics, videos, promotional materials) in collaboration with IBP’s Central Services Serve as the primary brand steward and communications strategist for the organization, including the tracking and maintaining of press, media, and public relations effortsBe the fans’ #1 advocate; driving reporting around fan attendance, experience, and feedback. Support the defining of an Asian-inspired baseball experience for the OC Baseball ClubDevelop and drive a merchandising strategy in partnership with IBP Central Services and bring the products to lifeMaintain and evolve the team’s brand identity, including voice, look/feel, and storytellingQualifications7+ years of experience in marketing, public relations, or community engagement; sports/entertainment industry preferredDemonstrated leadership in brand building, fan engagement, and content strategyStrong understanding of digital and social media marketing best practicesCreative thinker with a strong attention to detail and storytelling instinctsStrong leadership and management skills, with experience building and mentoring teamsStrategic thinker with ability to execute and adapt in a fast-paced, seasonal businessExcellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skillsComfortable working on-site during evenings, weekends, and game days as requiredPreferred AttributesDeep understanding of the minor league baseball landscape and fan baseHistory or experience within the Southern California marketFamiliarity with Asian Baseball (KBO, NPB, etc.) Passion for community engagement and content developmentEntrepreneurial mindset with a data-informed approachComfortable working across multiple teams and in collaborative settingsExperience with design and creative teamsBilingual in English and Korean/Japanese, or other relevant languagesCompensation and BenefitsSalary: $100,000 to $120,000 annually, depending on experience, qualifications, and geographic considerationsIncentive Compensation: Eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan designed to reward revenue partnerships and sponsorship salesBenefits: Standard company benefits, which include medical, dental, vision, life-style spending account, 401(k) plan, and paid time offLocation: Hybrid About Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP)Innovation Baseball Partners (IBP) is an ownership group and operating company focused on building a portfolio of independent minor league baseball teams.
