We are growing rapidly and looking for high performers at every level to grow with us.POSITION SUMMARY:The Hockey Program Manager is responsible for developing and managing the entire scope of hockey related activities, such as leagues, events, Learn-to-Play, hockey camps/clinics, teams, as well as supervising hockey instructors and scorekeepers. This position is responsible for creating a first-class programming experience for all participants, coaches, officials, and spectators across all our offerings. This role will work closely with outside event owners, league officials, and other leaders to successfully accomplish these responsibilities.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:Directly align with the SFM Statement and Core ValuesDevelop and execute all aspects of hockey programming; provide effective training, workflow structure, and leadership for hockey programmingOversee the recruitment and training of hockey coaches; actively recruit new players and teamsDevelop and effectively manage program budgets and maintain registration goals; effectively manage all aspects of the program/camp registration process; create efficient purchasing/registration experience for all programming customersExecute all program league and post-season play scheduling; create a fair and competitive playing experience for all participantsCoordinate with Skate Program Manager for scheduling ice time and programsBuild relationships and communicate effectively with guests; ensure teams and guests keep locker room neat and cleanAssist in maintaining a clean and safe environment for guests and team membersContinuously develop programming that targets various markets ranging from corporate, group, adult, youth, family, and special interest groups; maximizing utilization and positive impact within the communityEffectively collaborate with the Marketing Team to support their programming/camp campaign effortsServe as MOD as necessaryIce Resurfacer Operation and support operations team as neededOther duties as assigned by managementMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in recreation or sports management or related field is preferredExperience and success in customer service and programming administration preferred5+ years in the hockey industry requiredUSA Hockey Certified Coach requiredMust have proven track record of developing, marketing, and selling recreational programsMust have experience in programming setup & execution operations Must have knowledge of recreational/facility management software programs Must have excellent interpersonal and problem-solving negotiating skillsMust be a team playerMust have excellent verbal and written communications skillsMust have excellent computer skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.Must be able to work a flexible work schedule (e.g., nights, weekends, holidays, and long hours)Must possess current CPR/AED/First Aid certification or must be willing to obtain them within 90 days of hire WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift 50 pounds waist highMay be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time whether indoors or outdoors, and squat, stoop or bendWill be required to work in cold environments for extended periods of timeWill be required to operate a computerHOCKEY PROGRAM MANAGER – Woodman's Sports & Convention CenterWSCC SFM, LLCLOCATION: Janesville, WIDEPARTMENT: OPERATIONSREPORTS TO: GENERAL MANAGERSTATUS: FULL-TIME (EXEMPT)ABOUT THE COMPANY:Woodman's Sports & Convention Center is a premier sport, recreation and entertainment destination focused on improving the health and economic vitality of Janesville, WI You will be joining a championship level team focused on fun, fulfillment and service built to enrich the community as well as your career and personal growth.
