JOB SUMMARY: This position is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of assigned facilities. This role includes assisting with the hiring, training, and scheduling of facility maintenance staff, as well as overseeing local maintenance of the ice, equipment, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems. This role contributes to project oversight across designated properties, driving timely execution and operational efficiency. Additionally, they will play a key role in the successful execution of all ice events, ensuring the facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained. This is an on-site position and is not eligible for remote work.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Communicate regularly with General Managers on budget control and staffing decisionsIdentify opportunities for cost savings and implement energy-efficient practicesLead, train, and motivate operations staff to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality workAssist the VP of Facility Operations in long-term operations planningWork with General Managers and VP on expense control, operational efficiency, and capital expenditureDevelop work schedules and supervise the execution of maintenance tasks and capital projectsMaintain high standards for ice quality, equipment upkeep, and overall facility appearanceOversee changeovers, ice installations, and removals as part of supervisory dutiesConduct regular facility walkthroughs to identify and address maintenance needsEnsure the facility is event-ready and operates smoothly during all functionsCoordinate with third-party contractors on building and site maintenance activitiesPromote a safe environment for patrons and staff by adhering to life safety and emergency protocolsIdentify and implement process enhancements to improve operational efficiency, reduce turnaround times, and elevate customer experienceEnforce facility regulations, policies, and procedures effectivelyAnticipate problems and recommend appropriate solutionsProvide clear, concise, and timely communicationReport mechanical repair needs to the Engineering department in a timely and efficient mannerJOB QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or G.E.D. required, bachelor’s degree preferredA minimum of five (5) years’ experience supervising in a multi-sport entertainment facilityExtensive knowledge of day-to-day ice rink business including heavy equipment/machinery, ice maintenance and installation, etc.Working knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and ammonia systemsAbility to change filters, belts, bearings, etc., on various pieces of equipment and/or machineryStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsExperience driving forklifts, scissor, and boom liftsKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook Able to frequently work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidaysPhysical Demands and Working EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle objects and office tools, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
