Responsibilities: Assist with suites department event-night responsibilities for Washington Capitals, Washington Wizards, Georgetown Hoyas men’s basketball, Washington Mystics, concerts and events. Coordinate and complete special events, including communicating with arena vendors and suites clients. Assist in coordination and communication with in-arena suite client activation. Manage departmental requests for the Ambassador program with special Wizards and Capitals Alumni and share pictures from client interaction. Handle client communications via email, LinkedIn, and other various platforms. Learn the functions of our CRM database Salesforce and assist with the Capital One Arena suite rental process. Work with the Suite Services team to craft and host special events for our suite clients. Distribute autographed items and other client gifts; assist in tracking gift and merchandise inventory. Learn various functions of TicketMaster Archtics software. Assist with general office duties and special suite related stadium projects and arena transformation projects. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Current undergraduate or graduate student. Professional with effective and efficient communication skills. Previous experience or course work in hospitality or sports marketing. Highly organized and detail driven with the ability to multi-task. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Flexibility to work all special events taking place on evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Position Overview: The Internal Communications Intern assists the Executive Vice President, Chief Strategic and Corporate Communications Officer, and communications team in sharing MSE’s story with internal and external audiences. This work is coordinated with marketing and communications teams across all brands managed by MSE, and candidates with an MSE or equivalent experience are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities: Assist in drafting, editing, and distributing internal communication materials and newsletters from the corporate office. Support internal campaigns and track key performance indicators related to employee engagement. Actively brainstorm innovative ways to elevate MSE executives and employees through utilization of corporate communication channels. Help to support logistics around industry events, award opportunities, and speaking engagements that elevate MSE personnel. Maintain departmental tracking grids (editorial calendar, upcoming conferences/awards). Refresh website materials and keep websites up-to-date. Assist with games, concerts, and live events at Capital One Arena and EagleBank Arena as necessary. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Related internships or college course work in public relations, journalism, corporate communications, or sports management. Excellent writing skills and proven ability to produce long or short form content. Shown ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks and complete in a timely manner. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communications skills, organizational skills, critical thinking and general digital literacy. Basic level proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator). Knowledge of sports business industry, current issues, and relevant topics.
