PURPOSE OF THE JOB The Houston Dynamo and Dash are seeking an individual for the position of Communications Associate. The Communications Associate will assist the Communications team with initiatives and activations for the Dynamo and Dash home games, some Dynamo 2 home games, and select events at Shell Energy Stadium. The individual must be available 25-30 hours per week for this role. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Draft press releases, game notes and additional collateral as part of the weekly preparation for each match Management of media distribution lists and the media portal Assist with media monitoring and drafting monthly coverage reports Assisting in all aspects of press box operations on game days including press box setup, managing media will call, transcribing quotes and additional gameday duties. Assist with scheduling and executing interview and appearance requests for players and technical staff Produce Dash and NWSL related content for website Participate in Marketing Communications department meetings and events as directed Additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Recent graduate or currently enrolled at university or college, majoring in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, sports management or relevant concentration. Understanding of and ability to demonstrate professional acumen across the responsibilities of the position, including attire and grooming, speaking and writing skills, engagement with Club and team executives, players, media, partners and other stakeholders. Available for home and road games, as needed, to assist with gameday communication duties. High school diploma/degree – required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – required. Proficiency with the Adobe Suite (InDesign, Premier and Photoshop) – preferable.
