ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE, SPONSORSHIP SALES (DEPAUL SPORTS PROPERTIES) Chicago, IL On-Site THE RUNDOWN Playfly Sports is looking for an Account Executive, Sponsorship Sales to join our team in Chicago, IL. The Account Executive, Sponsorship Sales will assist the General Manager to pitch and close enterprise partnership agreements on behalf of DePaul University and Playfly. This role will also be responsible for generating incremental sponsorship revenue to meet and exceed individual and team goals. Lastly, this role will interact with and support current clients and sponsors during game day and non-sporting events. WHAT YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH Assist in developing and executing a sales plan to meet individual and team revenue targets Identify and perform outreach to potential sponsors for the university sports property through networking with the university stakeholders and business partners, researching local, regional and national companies Prospect, meet, and close new and renewal corporate sponsorships Develop and present compelling sales decks and presentations for new marketing partners Create sales proposals and draft/negotiate contracts Entertain and cultivate sponsors in non-game related settings Represent the university sports property, the university, and Playfly Sports Properties in a professional manner Research sports sponsorship industry and stay current with relevant market trends and conditions Provide dynamic integrated partnership packages with a focus on digital and mobile sales Support team members with contract deliverables to ensure best-in-class experience for university partners and sponsors Other job-related duties as assigned WHAT YOU’LL BRING Bachelor’s degree required 3-4 years of sales experience required Experience with integrated and “conceptual” sales preferred Proven experience meeting assigned sales quota Ability to generate and present ideas and concepts succinctly and provide creative solutions to prospects and clients Proficient professional sales presentation skills Outstanding communication skills are essential for interactions with clients, operational leaders and other senior executives Passionate about the college sports and athletics industry TRAVEL, LIFTING, PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Heading into our fourth season, the Flying Cows have built a successful on-court product as well as a one-of-a-kind brand off the court.What you can expect…We are a small team, meaning our interns will work cross-functionally, be involved in all aspects of the organization, and have the opportunity to gain experience in a variety of areas. With that, the Fall Sales Intern will prioritize ticket sales, sponsorship support, and revenue-driving initiatives during a critical offseason stretch as we prepare to launch the 2027 season. As the Flying Cows Fall Sales Intern, you may work on the following, but not limited to:Key Responsibilities:Ticket Sales Support: Assist in the sales of season tickets, mini plans, group tickets, and individual game tickets for the 2027 season, including outreach, follow-ups, and helping close deals.Group & Community Sales: Help prospect and reach out to local schools, youth organizations, businesses, and community groups to build group ticket packages and community nights.Sponsorship Support: Assist the sales team with prospecting, preparing sponsorship decks, and following up with potential sponsors in the Frederick area.Season Ticket Holder Outreach: Help with renewal outreach, retention calls, and personal touchpoints with returning season ticket holders to strengthen relationships and grow the base.CRM Management: Maintain and update the CRM with leads, contacts, notes, and follow-ups to keep the sales pipeline organized and moving.Prospecting & Outreach: Support cold outreach efforts including email campaigns, phone calls, and in-person visits to local businesses, gyms, and community organizations.Sales Event Support: Assist with executing sales-driven events, sponsor activations, and community appearances that generate leads and drive revenue.Reporting & Tracking: Help track sales activity, campaign performance, and revenue reporting to help the team hit its offseason goals.Basic Expectations & RequirementsActively pursuing a college degree or recent graduate.Must be located in the Frederick, MD area.Report directly to the General Manager, Operations Manager, Sales Manager, and Marketing Associate, and fulfill all duties as requested.Represent the organization, as needed, at events and appearances.Provide excellent customer service to all existing and potential fans.Professionally represent the organization at business and community functions.Work as a member of the TEAM, and Have Fun!Attend all offseason events, camps, and community appearances to ensure great experiences for fans.Performs other duties as assigned.The internship program is designed to provide training where candidates will gain valuable skills that assist them as they progress in their sports careers.Who are we looking for?We are seeking motivated, energetic candidates with the goal of building a career in the world of entertainment and athletics. This role is responsible for leading the development, execution, and publishing of strategic social campaigns to drive brand awareness, grow the Minnesota Wild’s social media footprint, generate revenue via corporate sponsorships and ultimately grow the State of Hockey. The Manager oversees day-to-day social content operations and mentors and develops junior team members. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Develop, lead, and manage the content strategy across digital and social media platforms to grow and maintain audience engagement. Oversee the scheduling and posting of photos, videos, articles etc. to all major social media platforms on a day-to-day basis that will engage and grow our various channels. Schedule & post content for the following accounts: MN Wild Wild Gives Back MN Wild Pup (as needed) Wild on 7th (as needed) Hockey Day Minnesota (as needed) Daily maintenance and oversite on the following accounts: MN Wild Wild Gives Back MN Wild Pup Wild on 7th Hockey Day Minnesota Craft brand or product stories that will engage audiences on an emotional level. Engage directly with fans and represent the brand at live events, community programs, and in-game experiences to deepen fan relationships and visibility. Interact with fans, run in-game contests, and cover the action live. Attend: Community events Wild Foundation events Player hospital visits Brand activation initiatives (pregame parties, etc.) Home and away games (as needed) Any other event that requires content support Lead strategic marketing initiatives and cross-functional collaboration while managing, guiding, and developing team members. Develop and drive strategies for unlocking new audiences and revenue opportunities while growing engagement with current fans. Execute fan-focused and data-driven strategies with short deadlines. Work closely with teams across the organization, including Creative Services, Video Production, B2C and B2B marketing, Hockey Operations and Ticketing. Provide day-to-day direction and leadership to department staff and interns during season. Manage and oversee the social media intern, providing direction, feedback, and professional development. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Formal Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or other related field, sports emphasis is a plus or equivalent experience. Knowledge of hockey is required. Knowledge & Experience: At least four years of experience in the field, with a proven track record of managing social media accounts and content. Proven people management experience, including directly supervising, coaching, and developing staff or interns. Exposure using social media analytics is a plus. Proficiency in MS Word, Adobe Creative Suite (Lightroom, Photoshop, etc.). Experience managing content for accounts on Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, TikTok and YouTube. Previous experience working with a content calendar is preferred but not required. Experience with project management systems (Wrike preferred). Personal Attributes: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. Proven planning and organizational abilities with demonstrated follow through. Decisive prioritization, focus on getting things done quickly and flawlessly. Positive attitude and desire to be successful while having fun. Demonstrated ability to write and create on-brand, engaging social media content. Ability to creatively articulate game elements and activities. Proven ability to deliver fresh, creative content ideas. Ability to work with tight deadlines. Ability to work independently and as a team player. Passion for photography. Self-directing, self-motivating, and able to work with a diverse group of people. Work Conditions: Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed for games and events. Travel up to 60% (away games, league meetings, draft, etc.) Physical requirements include sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, lifting, grasping, etc. Lifting up to 50 lbs.
