THE ROLE: The Portland Thorns are looking for a Vice President, Ticket Sales & Service responsible for leading the strategic vision, revenue generation, and day-to-day leadership of all Ticketing efforts for the Portland Thorns. This key executive will oversee the development and execution of strategies across all ticketing functions, including season memberships, premium, suites, groups and hospitality, partial plans, membership service and retention, single game ticketing, and ticket operations. Reporting to the President, Business Operations, this executive will be a senior leader focused on maximizing the overall business results and fan experience connected to all Thorns ticketing products, including accelerating the growth of the season ticket member base. The Vice President, Ticket Sales & Service will build and lead a high-performing sales and service culture, develop new and innovative products, establish a new membership program, and drive collaboration across departments to create meaningful fan experiences and sustained revenue growth. WHAT YOU’LL BE UP TO: Leadership & Team Development Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing sales and service department. Foster a competitive, collaborative, and performance-driven culture. Recruit, train, and retain top sales and service leadership and team members while creating meaningful development pathways for sales representatives and future leaders. Establish and maintain department-wide standards for sales activity, pipeline management, prospecting, and performance measurement. Promote a culture focused on continuous improvement, professional growth, teamwork, accountability, and results. Sales Strategy, Revenue Generation, and Cross-Functional Collaboration Lead all business efforts across: Season ticket memberships Premium seating, suites, and hospitality Group ticket sales and experiences Membership service and retention Partial plans Single game ticket sales and inventory management Relationship management with external ticketing vendors and partners Develop and execute annual and long-term sales and service plans aligned with organizational revenue objectives. Establish sales goals and performance benchmarks across all ticketing departments. Drive outbound prospecting strategy and lead generation efforts to maximize pipeline development and conversion. Monitor and evaluate sales performance metrics, pacing, and forecasting to ensure revenue targets are achieved or exceeded. Identify new market opportunities, customer segments, and revenue growth initiatives. Benchmark industry trends and best practices to create innovative ticketing programs, products, and strategies. Utilize CRM, sales technology, and reporting tools to improve efficiency, accountability, and sales effectiveness. Partner closely with Finance to support departmental financial planning, annual budgeting, revenue forecasting, and the development of sales and service goals and performance targets. Partner closely with Marketing to align overall customer journey, including lead generation, campaign strategy, messaging, and demand generation efforts. Collaborate with Business Intelligence teams on pricing recommendations, premium inventory utilization, and product positioning. Coordinate with Corporate Partnerships to identify strategic hospitality and integrated business opportunities. Partner with President, Business Operations and external partners at venue teams to support development of expanded premium and group revenue opportunities tied to Thorns matches. Collaborate in the development, packaging, and launch of new premium and hospitality products, experiences, and revenue-generating spaces associated. Serve as a collaborative business partner across departments to ensure ticketing strategy aligns with broader organizational priorities. Partner collaboratively with fellow sales leadership to develop coordinated go-to-market strategies, optimize organizational inventory utilization, and maximize total revenue generation for the Portland Thorns. Strategic Leadership Provide regular reporting, forecasting, and strategic recommendations to ownership and senior leadership. Lead planning and execution surrounding major sales campaigns, product launches, and organizational initiatives. Maintain strong awareness of sports and entertainment business trends, ticketing and hospitality innovation, fan behavior, and competitive market dynamics. Evaluate current inventory utilization and group sales performance to maximize revenue yield and long-term business growth. Help shape departmental priorities, organizational planning, and future revenue strategy initiatives. Represent the organization professionally at games, events, community and industry functions as needed. \WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A THORN: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience preferred. 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in Premium Sales, Group Sales, Ticket Sales, hospitality, sports, entertainment, or live events. Proven success leading high-performing sales teams and achieving significant revenue growth. Demonstrated expertise in premium inventory strategy, hospitality product development, new business generation, forecasting, and sales leadership. Strong leadership, communication, presentation, and organizational skills. Experience working cross-functionally with marketing, business intelligence, partnerships, operations, and finance teams. Comfort and ability to train and develop team members in group and individual settings. Proficiency with CRM systems, ticketing platforms, and sales reporting tools. Experience in Salesforce and Seat Geek preferred. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment while managing multiple priorities.
