MLV - Intern, Community Relations: $16.37 per hour Position Summary: The Community Relations Intern supports the planning and execution of community outreach, game presentation, and fan engagement initiatives throughout the season for Minnesota Major League Volleyball. This role is vital to creating memorable experiences for fans, strengthening relationships within the community, and enhancing the team's brand both inside and outside the arena. By collaborating across departments and assisting with events and promotions, the intern helps deliver a first-class fan experience while supporting the organization's overall business and community objectives. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Support community engagement initiatives and represent the team at events throughout the season. Assist with community outreach programs, youth clinics, school visits, and fan engagement initiatives that strengthen the team's presence in the community. Support the planning and execution of community appearances, promotional events, and special team activations. Assist with fulfilling and tracking charitable donation requests and community partnerships. Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner when interacting with fans, community partners, sponsors, and vendors. Help coordinate volunteer opportunities and community service initiatives involving team staff. Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown for community appearances and promotional events. Assist with game presentation and fan engagement to create an exceptional match-day experience. Support game presentation staff with in-arena entertainment, promotional elements, and fan engagement activities during home matches. Assist with writing and updating game scripts, including promotional reads, sponsorship elements, entertainment cues, and fan engagement messaging. Help coordinate game-day participants, special recognitions, and attending groups. Assist with the execution of theme nights, promotions, giveaways, and sponsor activations. Support the implementation of new fan engagement ideas and in-game entertainment features. Participate in game operations meetings and assist with other game-day responsibilities as assigned. Support brand activations that enhance the team’s visibility. Assist with social media content to support marketing initiatives that increase fan engagement. Help research fan engagement trends, entertainment ideas, and mascot best practices to enhance the game-day experience. Work collaboratively with the marketing, communications, partnerships, and volleyball operations departments to support organizational goals. Respond to appearance requests and internal communications in a timely and professional manner. Provide additional support for marketing events, promotional activities, and special projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Formal Education & Certification: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience: Previous experience in a community relations role or a programming role preferred. Event planning experience preferred. Computer and programming skills including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites. Personal Attributes: Strong organizational and time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Innovative self-starter with the ability to be highly creative with good follow-up skills. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: Shoot and edit breaking news as it pertains to the Minnesota Major League Volleyball team with the aptitude to cover most team practices and game days. Create and apply consistent branding principles and elements to all videos and social media. Capture and edit video footage for Team/Player video coverage. Support all Corporate Partnerships video deliverables. Learn specific web site Content Management System(s) including encoding and posting procedures. Edit multiple video productions as they pertain to all aspects of digital content and other areas in a timely fashion. Assist all production personnel with specific editing projects as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned. Position Requirements: Formal Education & Certification: Bachelor’s degree in Video Production, Film Studies, Mass Media, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience: At least two years of experience in video production with knowledge of current video editing and camera technology. Experience editing for Electronic/Digital media, Broadcast and Game Presentation using Adobe products and Premiere specifically with additional non-linear systems. Technical proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects preferred. Understanding of post-production color correction/balancing. Strong ability to run multi-format video cameras; a keen eye for capturing video with the ability to light subject(s) and compile audio complement. Knowledge of volleyball and sports in general. Key Responsibilities Contributing to the delivery of a world class dressing and signage project for all target groups who require the services of non-competition venues at the FIFA Women's World Cup Brazil 2027™. Overseeing the turnkey planning and delivery of non-competition venue dressing and signage across the tournament. Collaborating with the other Venue Dressing and Signage Managers and ensuring that precedents are followed to guarantee consistency across all tournament official sites. Working closely with the Stadium Dressing Managers and the Wayfinding and Signage Managers as well as other Functional Area Managers, to maximise efficiencies across the wider project. Oversight of contracted provider planning, production and implementation for all non-competition venues. Constant monitoring of the budgetary impact of dressing and signage operations and reporting updates into the Senior Manager and Head of Department regularly. Providing strategic input into the non-competition venue dressing planning process and offering expertise when required.
