Job SummaryThe University of Utah Athletics is seeking a creative, high-energy Social Coordinator to lead the day-to-day social media strategy and content for Utah Men’s Basketball. This role’s primary responsibility is elevating the Utes Men’s Basketball brand through compelling storytelling, real-time engagement, and platform-optimized content that connects fans to the program, student-athletes, and coaches.You will own content ideation, production, and execution across all major social channels while collaborating closely with the coaching staff, athletics communications, digital media, and marketing teams. This is a hands-on position in a fast-paced, high-visibility college basketball environment that demands creativity, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive on game days. While Men’s Basketball is the core focus, the Social Coordinator will also support other University of Utah Athletics teams and department-wide initiatives as needed. Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute a comprehensive social media content strategy and calendar for Utah Men’s Basketball across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook, YouTube, and emerging platforms. Create, edit, and publish high-quality content including short- and long-form video, photography, graphics, stories, and live content that highlights student-athletes, coaches, game action, culture, and behind-the-scenes moments. Design and produce engaging graphics that support social media, digital campaigns, and department-wide content needs. Manage all pregame, in-game, and postgame social media coverage, ensuring timely, on-brand, and engaging posts that maximize fan excitement and home-court energy. Drive real-time fan engagement, community management, and rapid response across platforms. Collaborate with coaching staff, athletics communications, digital production, marketing, and ticketing to align content with program goals, and broader athletics initiatives. Provide support to other University of Utah Athletics teams and department-wide digital efforts as needed. Track performance using analytics tools, report key metrics (engagement, reach, growth, conversions), and continuously optimize content and strategy. Stay ahead of social media trends, platform algorithm changes, emerging formats, and best practices in college and professional sports content. Maintain strict adherence to NCAA, Big 12, University of Utah, and brand guidelines, including NIL and copyright standards. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional travel for games and events.
