Everyone shows personal and professional growth and they are constantly serving and impacting others. We’ve built an All-Star team of the best creators, performers, and doers in the business. We constantly bring on people who contribute to the atmosphere of intelligence, passion, and fun! The team is obsessed with challenging the status quo and finding a better way to do almost everything for our fans. Our Vision – To entertain one billion fans by delivering the most fans first and entertaining experience in the world. To do that, we create one-of-a-kind experiences for our live shows and produce outrageous amounts of content from those shows to entertain our worldwide digital audience 24/7/365. The Video Production Coordinator will have the opportunity to impact millions of fans through the video content they produce. This person is obsessed with every aspect of video production, leaning on strong technical skills and a passion for pre-production responsibilities. Additionally, this person must be fully in-tune with the brand of Banana Ball. They always bring new ideas to the table and are constantly experimenting with new techniques to continue growing our brand and spreading the world of Banana Ball. The Role – The Video Production Coordinator is crucial to keeping up with the growing demand of our fans. They are involved in every step of the video creating process. The video team is an independent production company, and every member is expected to wear many hats including but not limited to: Idea Generation: Ideas are everything. Every game we do something that has never been done on a baseball field. Ideas are expected to make baseball fun, be sharable, on brand and relevant to what’s happening in the world today. Preproduction: We uphold ourselves to high standards and stress the importance of being detail oriented. Every idea is meticulously scripted, storyboarded, rehearsed, adjusted and rehearsed again. There is no such thing as overpreparation, but we test those limits! Videography: We shoot our games differently than any other team in sports. We are in the action, interacting with the players, coaches and characters in the field of play. Successful shooting requires constant movement and the ability to adapt to unforeseen circumstances, which can sometimes mean physically demanding activity. We are constantly looking at what’s ahead while shooting what is presently happening. Postproduction: We are experiencing a new age of media where immediacy is the expectation. We edit with speed and intentionality to provide our digital audience with the most accurate depiction of a live game experience. We push the envelope to plus our content and make it unique and different from everyone else. Posting: We work effortlessly with the Marketing team to publish our content to the best social platforms in the most engaging fashion. We work with them in lock step to build our YouTube channels to fulfill the same demands. We create thumbnails and brainstorm intriguing titles to garner the attention of new fans. We are always experimenting and never resting on our laurels. The Video Production Coordinator will work in an environment with little to no “red tape” and continue pushing the boundaries of sports content. Oftentimes, the only limits you’ll face are the ones you set for yourself. This person always brings new ideas to the table and is constantly experimenting. They are obsessed with capturing new things in new ways to further build the brand of Banana Ball. Video Team Gold Standard – Does it make baseball fun? Is it fans first? Is it sharable? These three questions are asked before every decision is made. The best idea is one that plays as well for our live audience as it does digitally. How do we capture content effectively without taking away from the live experience? We have the most electric and fun teams in sports. We have millions of fans who want to engage deeply with our teams, our players, our cast, and more. It’s our job to connect these fans and create new fans of Banana Ball through our digital content. We must create content that encapsulates the Greatest Show in Sports while staying relevant and fresh in an ever-changing digital world. We must not focus on what worked in the past. We must create the standard for what’s going to work in the future. Why is this job not for everyone? We are relentlessly resourceful. We don’t have the fanciest gadgets and gizmos, but that doesn’t stop us from creating the best content possible. A skilled craftsman with average tools is more powerful than an average craftsman with the finest. We will expect and push for an extremely high standard of content creation, production, and execution and expect someone that is hungry to learn, get better, and take constructive feedback. We are extremely picky on what content we want to see produced and posted. You will have your ideas shot down time and time again. This can be frustrating. The job is demanding. Our fans want to be with us 24/7/365. It is our job to provide them with the most up to date content to satisfy that demand. We move quickly. We don’t have weeks on end to come up with ideas, film the content, edit, and post. We have days, sometimes hours, to create high-quality content, and you must be okay with last-minute adjustments and changes. Gamedays are long and strenuous. You can expect to be at the stadium for 12-14 hours in the heat and humidity oftentimes standing for hours on end while manning heavy equipment. Because of the challenges with this job, here are the Expectations: You will be given more freedom in decision making as you earn your stripes and understanding of this business and organization. It’s going to take time to learn the ropes. The more you learn and the faster you learn, the more freedom that is earned. You will be judged by the amount and quality of your ideas as well as the execution of those high-quality ideas. Be resourceful – Use your resources and skills to develop ideas and content that make a dramatic impact for our brand. We must grow faster and learn faster than most people. Our personal growth has to outmatch the growth of our business. Growing and learning are paramount to leading and inspiring a team of people. You will meet regularly with the creative team to review goals, objectives, priorities, and results of your work and the department’s work. Decisions will be made together. What’s needed: Experience in shooting sports, a strong understanding in camera equipment, shooting styles and lingo. Knowledge of Sony equipment is preferred but not required. Proficiency in editing and a strong understanding of post-production. Adobe Premiere, Photoshop and After Effects experience is a must. An obsession with building the greatest content for our fans – constantly working on the craft, developing yourself, and the people around you. We want someone who’s learning from outside the traditional sports industry and willing to challenge the status quo of video content. Someone who moves confidently with clear decision making – we learn most from doing. If something doesn’t turn out to the highest quality – we must be okay with not putting something out after putting the work in if it doesn’t meet brand standards. The ability to focus and prioritize the most important things and eliminate distractions. It’s easy to get wooed or pulled into a variety of different lanes. There is a million little ‘good things’ we can be doing, but knowing the highest and best use of our time and leverage is critical. This job can be physically demanding. Ability to withstand long hours in the heat and on your feet while utilizing camera equipment is a must. Key Performance Points GENERAL CONTENT You will assist and own certain pieces of the video content production in the following ways: Making Baseball Fun – You are a protector of the brand and a filter of our content. Everything produced must be through the lens of Making Baseball Fun. Content Production Process – You are responsible in helping take ideas and turn them into Banana Ball branded content. By working closely with the rest of the Creative Team, you will be contributing to the digital fan experience through creating engaging content and constantly thinking of unique ways to tell stories. Innovation – What got us here won’t get us there. You should consistently be pushing our content ideas and production level to new heights through new technology, concepts, platforms, and more. SPECIFIC DUTIES Contribute ideas for new content and execute the creation of content ideas brought by other members of the team. This includes staying up to date on trends on social media platforms and pop culture references. Organize shooting plan for each piece of digital content. You’ll work closely with entertainment and marketing teams to properly shoot every moment properly conveying the digital vision without hindering the live experience. You’ll be responsible for ensuring each member of video team is on the same page is vital to a successful operation. Show proficiency in videography to capture any and all things happening during a Banana Ball game Log and upload footage in a timely manner. Use technical skills to create and design on-brand thumbnails and postproduction effects. Uphold positive relationships with players, coaches, characters and staff. Summary As a Video Production Coordinator for our teams, you will play a pivotal role in creating, curating and managing our content that is shared with our digital audience.
